Fall Season with Libra Energy

Michelle Reum | OCT 4, 2023

As summer's vibrant energy gives way to the introspective aura of fall, Ayurveda recognizes this transition as a shift in dominant dosha from fiery pitta to airy vata. To maintain inner balance, adapting our routines becomes crucial. The connection between fall, the Libra zodiac sign, and Venus, the goddess of love and beauty in Vedic astrology, is a harmonious and almost romantic one.

In Vedic astrology, each zodiac sign is linked to specific planets, and Libra is governed by Venus. Libra symbolizes balance, harmony, and beauty—much like Venus herself. Love, aesthetics, and a quest for equilibrium in relationships and surroundings define both Libra and Venus. This cosmic connection underlines the significance of nurturing harmony and balance in our lives as we embrace the fall season's transformation.

Embracing the Change of Season:

Fall is a time of transition, and Ayurveda encourages us to adapt our routines to align with the shifting energies. Here are some Ayurvedic practices to help you embrace this season change gracefully:

1. Topical Treatments: Self-Massage

October holds a special place in my heart as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It evokes memories of my dear late aunt, who bravely fought breast cancer but, unfortunately, didn't survive. She played a motherly role in my teenage years, guiding me through that challenging period of life.

During those early mornings of puberty, she instilled a vital lesson in self-care: the daily breast massage. She emphasized the significance of caring for our lymphatic system and showed me how to do it properly.

One day, while massaging our breasts as part of our daily routine, we stumbled upon something unusual in the breast tissue.

Massaging our breasts daily isn't just a routine; it's a proactive approach to detect any irregularities early, potentially saving lives. But it's not just about our breasts. During our daily rituals, we naturally extended the care to our belly. Both these regions in our torso serve essential functions in our overall well-being.

The oils we choose to use in our massages penetrate the skin, optimizing the functionality of these two vital areas in our body.

To nurture your body and rediscover that deep connection with your inner goddess, I recommend using organic and toxin-free oils like Osi Oils' "Feminin" Breast oil and "Flow" Belly Oil. These sensual essential oils are meticulously crafted to empower women and reignite their connection with their bodies. Embrace this opportunity to prioritize your well-being and sensuality.

2. Herbal Treatments: Tea Latte

Consider incorporating herbal remedies to balance your doshas during this transition. For instance, try a lymphatic drain massage to aid in detoxification. To complement this, indulge in the Ayurbest Ojas Bliss tea, a harmonious blend of organic ingredients that promote rejuvenation and restful sleep. (Use code MINDBREATHBODYWORK for 20% off)

This harmonious blend of organic dates, almonds, coconut, cardamom, ashwagandha, shatavari, turmeric, and saffron is the epitome of Ayurvedic wisdom. Here's how to prepare it:

- Add 1 heaping teaspoon of Ojas Bliss to three-fourths (3/4) cup of milk

- Add 1/2 tsp of ghee or coconut oil.

- Bring to a boil, then remove from heat.

- Add 1 tsp of raw honey to the warm milk.

If you're looking to celebrate the Goddess of Venus within you, book an Abyhanga with myself! I'll be sure to send home with some tea to seal in the love from our session.

3. Physical Movement: Dance

Dance is a healing and sacred practice that can help you stay balanced during the fall season. It promotes serotonin production, aiding in maintaining normal sleep patterns and digestion. So, put on your favorite tunes and dance your way to balance and well-being.

Here's my Fall 2023 Playlist for 2 hours of songs to inspire movement. Warning: you may do more squats than you thought you could do consecutively and wish you had jingly belly dancer waist scarf.

As we enter the fall season and Libra's influence, we have an opportunity to embrace the qualities of Venus—the goddess of love and beauty—by seeking balance, harmony, and self-care in our lives. By incorporating Ayurvedic practices, herbal treatments, and self-care rituals, you can navigate the changing seasons with grace and radiate the beauty that resides within you. Embrace the fall season as a time of transformation and rejuvenation, and let the goddess Venus guide you towards a harmonious and beautiful life.
